"Down Time" podcast presented by the Cranston, Rhode Island Public Library
Authors, Frances McNamara and Joanna Schaffhausen will join librarian Tayla Cardillo for a discussion of how women authors are redefining the genre by creating strong women characters. McNamara will speak from her perspective as an author of historical mysteries, featuring a "New Woman" of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, while Schaffhausen will offer her thoughts as the author of contemporary crime novels, featuring a woman police officer who works with a male FBI profiler.
