.Martha “Max” Folsom: is a retired Canadian bookmobile librarian, who later served for eight years as president of the library board of trustees in Arlington, Vermont. She is now a regular columnist for the quarterly Sherlockian journal Groans, Cries and Bleatings, as well as being the author of three private detective novels in the Baker Somerset Crime Novel series: One Bad Day After Another, Searching for Peter Griffiths, and Death of a Codebreaker. Her mysteries have dealt with issues such as: illegal activity in the military arms and equipment industry, the human rights violations regarding the island of Diego Garcia, WWII spies and codebreakers, and increasing activity of far-right hate groups. Folsom is a member of Sisters in Crime, the League of Vermont Writers, and Crime Writers of Canada. She is married to a retired Canadian military officer and divides her time between their Ottawa Centretown apartment and their Vermont stone house. She is currently at work on her fourth novel. Reading mysteries is her favorite pastime activity and several times she has read more than 200 books in a year.
