|Frankie Y. Bailey is both a mystery writer and a "crime professor". She is a criminal justice professor at University at Albany (SUNY). She specializes in crime history, crime and mass media/popular culture and material culture. Her current research focuses on dress and criminal justice in American culture. Her fiction features amateur sleuth/crime historian Lizzie Stuart in five books and two short stories and Albany Police Detective Hannah McCabe in The Red Queen Dies and What the Fly Saw. Frankie is a former EVP of MWA and a former president of SinC National.
